CREW Austin Regional Research Initiative
Launched in 2023, the CREW Austin Regional Research Initiative was created to rally thought leaders across Central Texas and give back to our communities through shared expertise. As professionals in commercial real estate, development, and finance – alongside partners in education, healthcare, workforce, government, and the nonprofit sectors - we saw both an opportunity and a responsibility to explore how our rapidly growing metro can develop in ways that are equitable, resilient, and connected. Our purpose is to generate actionable insights that help regional leaders make informed decisions shaping the future of the Austin Metro.
2025 Regional Research
Leaps and Bounds | The Now and Future Austin Metro represents CREW Austin’s inaugural year of regional research. The initiative recognizes both the extraordinary pace of our region’s growth and the challenges that accompany it - affordability, infrastructure strain, workforce needs, cultural preservation, and health. By convening over 120 leaders from across the five-county region and gathering the perspectives of more than 460 residents, this study offers a comprehensive look at how Central Texas can grow by design, not by default.
Roundtable Insights Report
The Roundtable Insights Report (April 2025) captures the voices of more than 120 leaders who participated in six cross-sector roundtables held across the Austin Metro - in Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, and Caldwell Counties, and a metro-wide session. The report outlined ten recurring priority themes across our region plus county-by-county snapshots. The findings in this report laid the groundwork for the subsequent online survey that went out to nearly 21,000 residents.
Capstone Report
The Capstone Report (October 2025) brings the threads together. It combines roundtable findings, resident survey data, and additional research into concise, actionable briefs that illuminate the most critical issues shaping the Austin Metro. Each brief integrates data and lived experience - addressing housing affordability, workforce pipelines, infrastructure, green space, cultural preservation, and health as infrastructure - to guide healthier, more equitable outcomes for all Central Texans.
2025 Research Capstone Celebration Brunch
The 2025 Research Capstone Celebration Brunch brought together strategic leaders from across all five counties of the Austin Metro to celebrate a year of shared discovery and impact. This culminating event offered a retrospective of CREW Austin’s 2025 regional research and a preview of the 2026 initiatives on the horizon. Guests engaged in topical mingling stations inspired by the Capstone Report—interactive hubs designed to spark conversation, connection, and collaboration around the issues shaping our region’s future. Together, we reflected on what we’ve learned, forged new partnerships, and continued advancing a more equitable, resilient, and thriving Central Texas.
