Women’s Heart Health & Hands-Only CPR Presentation

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death among women, with nearly 45% of women aged 20 and older living with some form of heart-related condition. Unique life stages such as pregnancy and menopause can further increase a woman’s risk, making education and prevention all the more important.

Join Dr. Caitlin Giesler, a local cardiologist and board member of the American Heart Association, for an engaging and informative presentation focused on women’s heart health. Dr. Giesler will also teach Hands-Only CPR, a simple lifesaving technique used during cardiac arrest, when the heart suddenly stops due to an electrical malfunction. Immediate CPR can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival, yet fewer than 40% of people who experience cardiac arrest outside the hospital receive bystander intervention. Women are also less likely than men to receive CPR from a bystander, which makes this especially important to address.

This session will not result in CPR certification, but it will equip you with practical, lifesaving skills to help you act quickly and confidently in a cardiac emergency. Join us and become part of the American Heart Association's Nation of Lifesavers - it could make all the difference.
